One Day Wildlife Photography Safari in North Norfolk

Our full and half day day photo safari have proved extremely popular. Full days run from early November through to early June and we offer half days in April, May and June. Subjects we photograph change with the seasons. As a rough guide seasonal highlights include Pink-footed Geese from November to early January, February is peak Barn Owl time, with the best opportunities for photographing birds hunting during the day, whilst hares are best from mid March. By mid April many of our summer migrants are arriving and Avocets and Marsh Harriers are starting to breed. From mid February to mid April Adders are a star attraction and during this period our woodland pool has lots of bird activity where we also bait for Buzzard and Sparrowhawk.

Each safari will be varied with a mix of habitats visited, many off the beaten track when David will show you a hidden Norfolk away from the crowded hotspots.

Unless you wish to concentrate on one or two species such as Barn Owls & hares we will attempt to give as varied day as possible taking advantage of seasonal opportunities.

Times

During winter our days typically start at around 8 am and finish around 5 pm or a little later depending on dusk and where we might be when we finish photographing. In spring and early summer we like to start at around 6 am to make the most of the light and wildlife activity, and will finish a little earlier in the afternoon. Half days offered in April, May and June are 6am to midday or midday to dusk.

Recommended Gear

Ideally equipment that has a telephoto ability of at least 300 mm. We can supplement or supply a full Olympus kit for the day if required. Beanbags for photographing from our vehicle are supplied, if you normally use a tripod then please bring that with you.

Level of fitness

We cater for all levels of fitness, our hides can be driven to along a woodland ride and much photography can be achieved from our vehicle. However on an average day expect to make a number of short walks, some sites we visit may entail a 30 minute walk photographing along the way.
